An Upstate teenager is in custody after allegedly shooting his own grandfather. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Stone Station Road, Saturday morning.
Upon arrival, a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. The victim was taken to Spartanburg Regional Hospital to be treated for his injuries and is said to be in stable condition.
The victim's grandson 19 year old, Tierre "TJ" McDowell has been arrested in connection to the shooting. The suspect reportedly also lived at the home where the shooting happened.
McDowell is charged with assault and a weapons violation.
