An Upstate woman is facing charges after a group of puppies were found inside a trash bag in Spartanburg County. Personnel from a tree service company found a black trash bag that had been tied up and noticed the bag moving.
They opened it and found 9 puppies inside, three of the puppies had already died. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says, the suspect, Elizabeth Tara Johns is charged with 6 counts of animal abandonment and littering. She was then booked into the Spartanburg County Jail. Employees of the tree service were able to find care for the six surviving puppies.
