US Senator Tim Scott was in Greenville Friday touring the Lockheed Martin facility where many are still working without pay as the Federal Government shutdown continues.
The shutdown is now reaching a month and counting, and the Senator recited similar points from his Republican colleagues, blaming Democrats for refusing to vote yes on continuing current funding plans, which have now failed in a Congressional vote 13 times.
Senator Scott continued, saying that legislators don’t fully understand the reality for many Americans living in poverty that rely on programs like SNAP.
The Senator also said that, despite the President's recent call to abolish the filibuster, he has no interest in doing such, stating that it would do far more harm than good.
