Weekend plane crash near NC/SC state line leaves two dead

A weekend plane crash just over the state line in North Carolina left two people dead.

Authorities responded Saturday afternoon ,after a plane crash in Tabor City which is just over the state line and is about 30 miles from North Myrtle Beach.

Officials say the small plane was going from Spartanburg to Grand Strand Airport in North Myrtle Beach. FAA records say the plane left Spartanburg at 11:30 AM and was last radar tracked around 12:45PM.

The pilot reportedly ran into severe weather as the flight approached Myrtle Beach. He then circled away heading towards Tabor City where he ran into even heavier weather prior to the crash.

The identities of the two victims have not been released, as of the time of this report. The crash remains under investigation.
