A Western North Carolina man will spend at least a quarter century behind bars for killing his infant daughter.
Officials in Graham County say 25 year old, Corbin Lee Nunez pleaded guilty to charges of 2nd degree murder and child abuse.
The charges came after the baby's mother left their home in February to attend classes at Haywood Community College. Court records say, Nunez called the baby's mother telling her the 7 month old had gone limp. T
he baby died a day after being taken to a hospital. The autopsy revealed blunt force injuries. Nunez will serve between 25 and 31 years in prison for murder and could serve additional time for the child abuse charge.
