A man who used to run for touchdowns is now running for office. Herschel Walker has won the Republican primary for a Senate seat in Georgia. Raphael Warnock is Walker's opponent, Warnock is looking for a full term in Senate. This election marks the 1st time that the two major political parties have both nominated black candidates for a Senate seat in Georgia. Herschel is an icon in Georgia and has been since leading the Bulldogs to the 1980 National Title in football. However, Walker is a political newcomer and has some issues in his past that are troubling. Walker has been accused by multiple women of domestic violence, he also has had mental health issues. Those issues were made very public in a documentary that the SEC Network did on Walker in 2011. Walker is backed by Donald Trump and you would have to expect Herschel is going to carry rural areas of Georgia. So the question, will Herschel Walker become the next U.S. Senator from Georgia?
