Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade there has been much more focus on "safe haven" laws. That type of legislation says, parents can surrender newborn babies they are unable or unwilling to care for. South Carolina like all other states have laws of this nature. South Carolina's "Daniel's Law" has been in effect since 2009. 53 babies in the state have been given up since the law was enacted. Last year alone in South Carolina over 6,000 abortions were performed.
