It's no secret that there's been a shortage of baby formula products in the U.S. recently. FDA regulations and a plant shutdown has fueled the crisis. Executives at international formula manufacturing companies have said that U.S. based formula makers have a "stranglehold" on the domestic market, due to FDA regulations. Research from Yahoo Finance says that nearly 3 quarters of all formula products in the U.S. have been out of stock at some point during the crisis (74% to be exact). A British based formula maker, Kendamil shipped 2 million cans of their formula to the U.S. on Thursday. Kendamil's Head Of Growth Dylan McMahon says that the company has always intended on getting its products in the U.S. market. However, they had never been able to until this crisis. Shipments from outside the U.S. have come to help alleviate the crisis, but will that be enough to rectify the issue? Do you think this will be squared away before the end of summer?
