Supply chain issues with food and other everyday products have been an issue since the pandemic began. Stores have had less on the shelves since then and those issues continue. There's those who believe that supply chain issues will usher in a major food shortage. Across the nation, there is a shortage of truck drivers which could well contribute to more supply chain issues and play a factor in a food shortage. The American Trucking Association says that the need for drivers is at an all time high. They report that 80,000 truck driving jobs are open nationally. Experts say the lack of drivers is playing into the increasing price of goods and playing a key role in rising inflation. The federal government is talking about taking measures to help alleviate the shortage, but the wheels of government turn slow and the issue is one that needs immediate attention.
