The whole world seems to be talking about the controversy surrounding yesterday's boxing match at the Olympics. Female athletes even here in the Carolinas have faced similar challenges.
Back in 2022 Payton McNabb was playing volleyball for Hiwassee Dam High School in Western North Carolina. During a game she was severely injured when a biological male identifying as a female playing for Highlands High School spiked a volleyball into Mcnabb's face knocking her unconscious.
Mcnabb expressed the emotions she felt when she realized that nothing was done ahead of this to protect her and other female athletes in this situation. What's worse than that is the biological male and his female teammates added insult to injury.
Mcnabb said "I was excited to start my Senior year and it was over as quickly as it began". She went on to say "my rights meaning less than a man's feelings was really heartbreaking". She also said that the biological male and his teammates were "all laughing at me", while she was unconscious.
