A Western North Carolina woman is dead after a vehicle crashed into a parked tractor-trailer in the Upstate. Anderson County 9-1-1 dispatchers got a call reporting the crash on Mays Street in Pendleton just after, 6PM Friday.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and another was airlifted to a hospital. The crash report says, that the driver of an SUV was turning onto Mays Street from Highway 76 when they lost control and hit a tractor-trailer that was parked there.
The deceased has been identified as 32 year old, Whitney Gillespie of Brevard. The crash remains under investigation by the Anderson County Coroner's Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
