There has been much talk about tax cuts by South Carolina leaders. Eearlier this week, Governor McMaster proposed cuts to income taxes. McMaster said if the tax plan proposal is passed it will be " a pay rise for all working South Carolinians". State Senator Harvey Peeler of Gaffney has proposed further tax cuts to the tune of 2 billion dollars. It feels as if these cuts have been proposed by state leaders to try and offset the rising cost of living. Inflation is the highest it has been in 4 decades and many are feeling the squeeze as a result. In the Upstate currently gas is an average of $3.29 per gallon. There is speculation it could be as high as 4 dollars a gallon at some point this year. Prices are up on essentials like groceries and utilities as well.
