Authorities in North Carolina are searching for two inmates who escaped from the Vance County Detention Center Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Vance County Sheriff's Office, 33-year-old Michael Lewis Miles Jr. and 21-year-old Lishawn Knott escaped around 2 p.m. Wednesday. Both men were being held on multiple state drug trafficking and gun-related charges.
The FBI and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation are involved in the search.
Officials say Miles is six feet tall and about 180 pounds, with a prominent tattoo on his neck.

Knott is five-foot-eleven, about 160 pounds, with numerous facial tattoos, including a large cross on his forehead.

Authorities say the two men knew each other before their arrests and should be considered armed and dangerous. Law enforcement is asking residents to review home surveillance and trail camera footage for any signs of the escapees. They're also urging people to lock vehicles, close garage doors, and secure sheds and other outbuildings.
The FBI and Vance County Crime Stoppers are offering a combined reward of up to 40-thousand dollars for information leading to the location and capture of the two men.
