Rock Hill, S.C. — U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) visited the Catawba Nation today to meet with Chief Brian Harris and Council Members to discuss federal legislation affecting the tribe and to review ongoing community projects.

During the visit, Chief Harris and tribal leaders provided updates on the construction of the new Rivercrest Road bridge, the development of the Black Snake Farm Market, and other initiatives aimed at strengthening the Catawba Nation’s infrastructure and economic opportunities.

“During my visit with Chief Brian Harris and the Catawba Nation leadership, I had the chance to see Black Snake Farm and hear more about the tribe’s community development projects, from infrastructure improvements to economic initiatives. Their work reflects the Catawba Nation’s resilience, self-determination, and commitment to strengthening their community. I’m grateful for the opportunity to see these projects firsthand and to discuss how federal support can continue to empower their efforts,” said Sen. Scott.

“We are excited to welcome Senator Tim Scott to the Catawba Nation. This visit provides an opportunity for him to see firsthand the progress and momentum taking place within our community and the impact we are making beyond it. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership and advancing opportunities that benefit our citizens and the region as a whole,” said Chief Brian Harris.
