The southeast has found itself amongst the upper rankings in a recent WalletHub study ranking the best states to retire to in the United States.
States were ranked based on their affordability, quality of life standard, and health care access.
Virginia was ranked first in the study, followed by Florida with the fourth highest quality of life and ninth highest affordability ranking.
North Carolina was ranked twelve with above average rankings across the board. South Carolina wasn’t far behind at sixteenth overall, thanks heavily to the fourth best affordability ranking compared to its below-average quality of life and health care ranking.
Georgia ranked in the middle of the pack at twenty-seventh, with the seventh highest affordability ranking but very low quality of life and health care rankings.
