It seems the argument over the proper way to clean dishes will never go away. While some stick their dirty dishes straight into the dish washer, others find it necessary to rinse off dishes before letting the machine do the work. Now, an expert has revealed washing dishes before putting them in the dish washer may actually make them dirtier.
People who rinse their dishes before putting them in dish washer usually claim it’s to make sure all the remanence gets cleared away during the cleaning process. However, most new age dish washers contain sensors to track the mess on plates, and clearing that mess off could throw off the amount of pressure needed to actually clean the plates. "There's absolutely no need to pre-rinse,” said Australian cleaning expert Ashley Iredale.
According to Iredale, pre cleaning dishes could lead to the dish washer sensors using the lowest pressure setting to clean, thinking the dishes are fully cleaned already. Experts also say leaving the dishes in the dish washer for some time before running the cycle could help loosen up some of the mess on the plates. Of course, this won’t stop people from stacking dishes in the sink until there’s no more room.
