If there is one thing almost every Texan has in common, it’s their love for Whataburger. That’s why a baseball team in Texas has decided to change their mascot to one of the fast food chain’s most popular menu items. The Corpus Christi Hooks announced recently they will change their name to the “Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits” for multiple games this season.
Already playing their games at Whataburger Field, the Corpus Christi Hooks have decided to take their Whataburger branding even further. The team, which is the AA affiliate of the Houston Astros, will wear special Whataburger themed jerseys for every Wednesday home game this season. The jerseys feature the fast food chains lettering, along with the iconic orange and white stripes.
This is not the first time the team in Corpus Christi has changed their name. According to Chron.com, the team has also been called the “Blue Ghosts” and the “Raspas” in the past. While not every Texan is a fan of the Astros, after this change everyone will be a fan of their minor league team.
