"It's such a trip," Marko explains. "It's funny because I guess any generation, when you start out you have this kind of 'imposter syndrome' of what we're doing and friends are doing isn't as important as the bands that happened before us. You know, we're standing on the shoulders of the '90s giants. You've got a band coming out with a record in 2001 and you feel like, the only thing we have going for us is that we've got this fresh, brand new millennium."
"If nothing else," Marko adds, "we get to be the freshman calss of the next thousand years. And you think, 'why are me and my friends in our little neighborhood and the songs that we make... why should anyone care?' You kind of go into it with that to begin with. Then we were out there and started to meet all these other bands that are coming around the same time as us, and you almost jokingly think, 'maybe one day some of these kids in the crowd will look back on this as the time that they remember."
After relegating those times to their parents' attics and moving on with life --- strange things can, and have happened for the band. "Sooner or later, everyone starts going, 'are you thinking what I'm thinking?' I'm personally thrilled that we get to be invited to the party... it's so cool that our little band has actually meant anything to anybody!"
