Neck Deep is back doing what they love. On the road, traveling from city to city, and playing their music in front of fans.
The guys from Neck Deep joined Audacy's Morgan Freed this week on Emo Nite to discuss how being back out on tour has reinvigorated the band in more ways than one.

“It’s one of the things we missed the most maybe,” they said of being back out on the road. “Seeing a different city and eating something new every day.”
After the COVID-19 pandemic forced the band to stay at home and lose all the momentum they had built up behind their new album (more on that in a second), their current tour has sparked a renewed energy. “It definitely felt like the momentum was back,” they said.
“Especially for us, touring has always been our favorite part and being a good live band is something we’ve worked on a lot over the years and it’s the thing we’ve had the most fun with,” they added.
Neck Deep’s fourth studio album All Distortions Are Intentional came out in July 2020 as the pandemic made it so they couldn’t tour behind the record. “To have had an album out and not be able to tour it, it definitely took out a lot of momentum,” they said.
They’ve finally been able to perform songs from the album in a live setting and it’s clear in their voices the difference it makes in the band’s overall feeling. “In terms of all the other stuff that goes on behind the band, the motivation is there now where as six months ago there’s just apathy,” they said.
“It just didn’t interest us because it wasn’t the thing that we missed the most. We love writing music, playing music, and all the other stuff is extra. When you only have that extra stuff, it doesn’t mean anything.”
Emo Nite is not a band, and they’re not your usual DJs – Host Morgan Freed throws epic parties and now has a radio show for the music they love.
