
GLAAD’s Associate Director of Transgender Media, Alex Schmider produced the 2019 Hulu documentary Changing The Game. The film follows the lives of three transgender student-athletes in high school.

Now as fierce debates have been ignited across the U.S. about transgender athletes taking part in school sports, Schmider spoke with Audacy’s Shira Lazar and Ryan Mitchell on Channel Q’s Let’s Go There about the dangers of anti-trans legislation.
Currently, thirty-three states have already introduced over 100 bills that serve to limit the rights of transgender people in this country, making 2021 the year with the highest amount of anti-trans legislation in history.
Schmider shares that the main takeaway from Changing The Game should be that this film was made for “everyone.” He continues, “no matter where you are in your journey towards allyship or understanding, this film is for you.”
