
William Lucking, who starred as Piney Winston on “Sons of Anarchy,” has died. He was 80.
Lucking passed away on October 18th at his Las Vegas home, according to an obituary written by his wife, Sigrid Insull Lucking, per The Hollywood Reporter.
The cause of death has not been revealed.
“Although William often played toughs and strongmen, in his actual life he was an elegant man with a brilliant intellect who loved to argue about politics and current affairs, discuss philosophy and physics and assert fine-pointed opinions about art and poetry,” his wife wrote in the obituary.
For 4 seasons, Lucking portrayed a rugged biker on the FX series "Sons of Anarchy." He is also known for his portrayal of Colonel Lynch on the '80s series "The A-Team."
Lucking made his television debut in the ‘60s in an episode of “Ironside” and appeared on a slew of shows including “Mission: Impossible,” “The Partridge Family,” “Newhart,” “Murder, She Wrote,” “The West Wing,” and “The X-Files,” among others.
William is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sigrid Insull Lucking, and two daughters, Marjet Lucking and Juliana Ryan.
