
The members of My Chemical Romance have offered their “deepest condolences” to the family and friends of former drummer Bob Bryar, who passed away at the age of 44 on Wednesday, November 27.

Following the news of Bryar’s passing, of which no cause of death has yet been given, My Chemical Romance posted a statement on social media referring to Bob as “an important part of the history” of the iconic Post-Punk/Emo group.
“It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Bob Bryar, our former bandmate and an important part of the history of My Chemical Romance,” the band wrote. “We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family at this time. May he rest in peace.”
Taking over for Matt Pelissier after the release of 2004’s Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. Bryar was the band’s longest-running drummer, going on to tour and perform with MCR on their 2006 opus, The Black Parade, as well as 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, and is featured on songs compiled for their 2013 Conventional Weapons rarities release. In 2014, Bryar chose to bow out of the music industry in order to focus on his charitable and real estate passions.
TMZ reports Bob was found at his home in Tennessee on Wednesday, November 27, and a medical examiner is currently investigating his death.
