The Padres' losing ways continued on Friday night, as they lost their sixth game in a row, and ninth in their last ten games. Michael King struggled scattered six hits over six innings without walking anyone, but was done in by extra base hits. Jared Young hit a solo home run in the 2nd inning, Bo Bichette hit an RBI-triple in the 3rd inning, and Luis Torrens put the game out of reach with a 2-run home run in the 5th inning. The Padres' bats remained cold, totaling just three singles on the night, while being shut out at home by the Mets, who improved to seven games below .500 with the win. Griffin Canning will attempt to put an end to this losing streak when he takes the mound on Saturday night.
