We are in the age of the "hot girl summer."
As we are coming out of this post-pandemic life we are all too familiar with and incredibly sick of, a study from PR Newswire found that while men are looking to settle down, women are ready to have a summer full of carefree fun.
According to the study:
- 63% of men report that they are looking for a serious relationship this summer
- 37% of women report that are looking for a serious relationship this summer
- More than 60% of women report they plan to participate in "hot girl summer"
Maria Sullivan, Vice President and Dating Expert of Dating.com, explained that "singles are navigating the unknown right now. Women are embracing their independence, which should be celebrated. To all the men out there looking for something serious: pursue new connections, be candid about and loyal to your intent, and, if she is truly right for you, the spark will last beyond just the summer months."
In May, the White House announced that popular dating apps Tinder, Hinge, Match, OKCupid, BLK, Chispa, Plenty of Fish, Bumble, and Badoo have all agreed to create badges that show vaccination status.
The apps will also give vaccinated Americans access to free premium benefits like boosts, super likes, and super swipes. These features are all meant to increase your chances of connecting with someone.
