For today's top parlay, I’m combining my favorite college basketball wager with Lucy Burdge’s best NBA bet from The Daily Boost, creating a +264 play at BetMGM. While parlays should always be bet responsibly, this two-leg option presents solid value.
Marquette at Villanova Under 142.5 & Wizards +5.5 vs. Bucks (+264, BetMGM)
For today’s parlay of the day, I’m combining my favorite wager of the night with Lucy Burdge’s best bet from “The Daily Boost” this morning to create a +264 ticket to sweat out. As always with parlay wagers, I will advise being responsible and use caution, as I think it is pretty common knowledge by now that the sportsbooks make the most money off of parlay bets. That is why you will rarely see me put more than a two-way ‘lay for us here, although those longshots are fun as long as it is for baby peanuts.
First off, we have two marquee games in college basketball tonight, and the first bet that stuck out to me right away was the total in Marquette at Villanova. These two teams faced each other already earlier this season, which resulted in an 87-74 win for the Golden Eagles at home. For those of you that are mathematically challenged and don’t want to use a calculator, that is 161 total points scored in the game. That is nearly 20 points higher than what the total for tonight’s game is listed at, which is 142.5.
I think there is a reason that it is so low, despite how many points they combined last time. Villanova has scored less than 80 points in 14 of their 16 games against Big East foes this season, while Marquette has been an under team all year. The Golden Eagles are 11-15 to the under, and eight of their last 10 away games have gone under as well. This just feels like a game where Marquette is going to struggle to get anywhere near 87 points again, and I don’t see Villanova going off either.
The second part of this parlay is from my co-worker Lucy Burdge, who is backing the Washington Wizards tonight to cover the +5.5 against the Milwaukee Bucks at home. While the Wizards have lost four of their last five games, and are just 9-45 on the season, they have covered in four of their last five. In fact, they have covered in six of their last 10 games, and have been playing a better brand of basketball as of late.
Meanwhile, the Bucks have been horrendous at covering spreads recently. They have failed to cover in seven of their last 10 games, and there are a plethora of reasons to fade them here. Milwaukee is also just 17-21-1 ATS as a favorite this year, and 11-16 ATS on the road. Simply put, the Bucks can’t seem to cover in the exact same scenario that they are in tonight, and just look at this line. The Wizards have won nine games all season, and they are just +5.5 against the 30-24 Bucks?
Seems quite fishy to me, and the line has already moved several points down from the open, which was +7. For a price of +264 right now over at BetMGM, I think this parlay of two of our best bets is showing some good value, and it is worth a sprinkle to have some fun with tonight.
