The Super Bowl and NFL season might be over, but there is still plenty to bet on and we are picking it right up for you with some picks for today.
Our staff has found some enticing picks for you today in the NBA and college basketball!
Dan Karpuc: Spurs C Victor Wembanyama Over 24.5 Points vs. Wizards (-125, BetMGM)
The first time Wemby faced the Wizards this season, he dropped 50 points on 18-of-29 shooting (8-for-16 from three) in just 32 minutes en route to a 139-130 win. I don’t care that he’s finished under this mark three straight times heading into this game; Washington has allowed the most points per game (27.1) to opposing centers this season and has routinely allowed huge stat lines to the position. Not only that, but with Jonas Valanciunas traded and Alexandre Sarr injured, Richaun Holmes and Tristan Vukcevic will likely see most of the playing time at the five. Those guys started the season as third and fourth on the depth chart for the 9-43 Wiz. I expect Wembanyama to absolutely crush in this matchup.
Lucy Burdge: Celtics -5.5 vs. Heat (-115, BetMGM)
The Celtics have covered their last two spreads on the road and the Heat have failed to cover five of their last seven spreads at home. The Celtics are also averaging seven mote points per game than the Heat, at 117 to Miami’s 110. And when the Celtics faced Miami in December, the Celtics beat them 108-89. So I think the Celtics can cover tonight.
Matt Horner: North Carolina +6.5 vs. Clemson (-110, BetMGM)
This line is moving down to 5.5, but I would still play it there. I think the Tar Heels have a chance to win this game outright, and it’s a really simple handicap. Clemson is coming off of a huge upset over Duke, and any time that happens, you want to fade that team the next game. North Carolina has been quite the stinker this season, no doubt, but this is just a very good spot for them here. I’ll take the points but wouldn’t be shocked at all if they won the game.
Kate Constable: Thunder Team Total Over 126.5 vs. Pelicans (-110, BetMGM)
OKCs offense has been rolling lately, ranking first in offensive rating over their last five games, averaging 131. Meanwhile, the Pelicans have the worst defensive rating in the league over that same span. They’ve allowed four of their last five opponents to score well into the 120s and won’t have an answer tonight for SGA and Co.
