Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts’ legs have been instrumental to his team’s success all season. He rushed for 630 yards and 14 touchdowns during the regular season and has reached the end zone four times this postseason. The star signal caller shredded the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII with 70 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns, so sports bettors are looking to find the best way to wager on him this time around.
Hurts’ rushing yards haven’t gone up with each game this postseason, but his rushing attempts have. He’s tallied six, seven, and 10 rushing attempts in the playoff games he’s appeared in during his latest Super Bowl run. History suggests that Hurts will lean on his legs in what’s sure to become the biggest game of his career so far.
“The quarterbacks, the mobile ones, are going to run more the bigger the game is,” BetMGM Network’s Joe Ostrowski said Tuesday on an episode of Bet Sweats.
Hurts amassed 70 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns on 15 carries the last time he faced the Chiefs on the big stage. He could be in for more of the same in round two.
“If we look to the last NFC Championship on the way to their last Super Bowl against San Francisco, Hurts had 11 rushing attempts for 39 yards,” Ostrowski said. “So I can see how yardage why they’re going under, but the attempts man. And if you have a couple of tush pushes you can get like two, three (rushing attempts) in a possession easily.”
BetMGM now lists Hurts’ rushing attempt total at 9.5 and the under (-120) is slightly juiced. All signs point to him looking to move the chains with his legs against a team he’s dominated on the ground in the past. Bettors should consider checking out several prop markets centered around Hurts’ rushing upside.
