Following comments from Eagles cornerback Darius Slay about the difficulty of playing in Philadelphia, Joe Giglio and Hugh Douglas argued that Philly is not too hard on their athletes.

"I roll my eyes and I can't believe how in certain instances so many players that currently play can't handle a little constructive criticism, can't handle emotion," Giglio said on Friday's 94WIP Midday Show.

"It is different here," Douglas, a former Eagles defensive end, said. "I remember when I first got here, yeah it was a little rough...My question is this, what are you doing during the course of the game where you can pinpoint—because they were very specific in the way they say some of the fans are and some of the same people are booing them all of the time. At what point in the game are you more concerned about the fans booing than the task at hand?

"My feeling is fans today are not as hard as they used to be on athletes," Giglio said. "The Philadelphia fan of 30 years I think has evolved. I don't think we are that hard on these athletes."

“We got our fans being the OC, talking about ‘RUN THE BALL!' Slay said on The Corner Suite podcast with former Eagle Steven Nelson. "I ain’t gonna lie, these probably the only fans that ever got to me bro.”

Following the reaction on Friday morning, Slay posted this on X.

Recently, on the 94WIP Afternoon Show, A.J. Brown asked Ike Reese and Jack Fritz why the media is not supporting Philadelphia more.

"You guys supposed to be supporting Philly, but it don't turn out to be that. Why make up so many rumors?"

60-percent of fans agree with Hugh and Joe, according to this poll.
