Hagritay, 57, posted an update on her recovery to Instagram with a photo of her still on crutches. Despite her injuries, the star was all smiles and even took light of the serious situation by wearing a funny shirt that read, “It hurt. Thank you for asking.”
The actress has been seen walking on set of the NBC drama with her crutches, meaning there's a chance Detective Olivia Benson may be sitting out a few cases this upcoming season.
On Wednesday, an “SVU” representative told TVLine that the ankle injury will “be addressed in the season premiere,” which kicks off with a two-hour special Thursday, September 23 at 8 p.m. ET.
It is yet to be determined whether the the show will incorporate Hagritay’s injury into the story line or if it will mean a brief absence from the show.
The star was first spotted using crutches two weeks ago while maneuvering on the show’s New York City set. She was reportedly on the mend after suffering a broken knee, hairline fracture in her ankle, and torn ligament.
According to Page Six, Hargitay fell and broke her ankle while exiting a screening of the new Marvel movie “Black Widow” in the Hamptons.
Upon her return, she gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the action by sharing video during a break from shooting a scene.
“SVU 23. It’s happening,” Hargitay said while sitting inside a vehicle as members of the crew are heard in the background. “Lights, camera, action. Thanks for watching.”
