Taylor Swift had a heart-to-heart with her loyal fan base ahead of her next album re-release, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).

The 33-year-old plead with Swifties while on stage in Minneapolis over the weekend asking them to show “kindness and gentleness” as she re-releases the album that throws some shade at some past boyfriends.
Taylor’s request came just ahead of her live, surprise performance of “Dear John,” a song from the album that exposes the painful heartbreak from an older man. The song is rumored to be about John Mayer, who Swift dated from 2009-2010, Speak Now released in October 2010.
“I’m 33 years old, I don’t care about anything that happened to me when I was 19,” Swift told the massive crowd. “I’m not putting this album out so that you can go — and should feel the need — to defend me on the internet against someone you think I might have written a song about 14 billion years ago.”
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), arriving July 7, will be the third re-release of six that Taylor has planned in an effort to regain artistic control of her music. It follows Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version), which both released in 2021.
