Friends and family of Britney Spears are reportedly still concerned for her health, despite Britney's response to their failed intervention attempt.
If you missed it yesterday, TMZ reported an intervention for Britney that fell through on Tuesday. Her manager, doctors, husband, and an interventionist were set to give her help at a rental home in the LA area. Britney found out about it, and the plan was dropped. (Read more about that here.)
On Friday morning, Britney took to Instagram to respond to media coverage of the attempted intervention:
"This week in the news it was said that I almost died and that I have a manager and 'doctors' !!! I don't have a management team nor will I ever again in my life !!! I don't have 'medical doctors' !!! I take Prozac for depression and that's about it !!! I'm an extremely boring person !!! It frustrates me to know that any news outlet would say any of this !!! It's worse than a cruel joke because people actually believe this stuff and all of my efforts in getting better with my little routine of prayer and therapy seems to not count for anything when people can say things that re incredibly wrong !!! Anyways change of the subject ... enough drama ... I'm into diamond gowns and funky fashion at the moment !!! Good Morning !!!!!"
TMZ's sources that have direct knowledge of the situation tell them that the intervention was long overdue.
"She is very much a danger to herself and those around her," said one source. "It's a ticking time bomb."
Another source worries they'll wake up and get "a horrible phone call [about Britney]."
According to a third source, there's worry that Britney will either "die or kill someone," as she is allegedly abusing substances like caffeine, Adderall, and "anything she can get her hands on" while allegedly not taking her prescribed medication.
It's hard to read all of this about Britney knowing what she's gone through in her personal life over the course of her career. Everyone is hoping the best for her, and I personally believe her close loved ones are acting out of love.
