DFW is known for many things, but in recent years it’s the food options throughout the metroplex that has the city buzzing. With more and more restaurants of all types popping up in North Texas in recent years, many have started to take the area seriously when it comes to cuisine. That was proven recently when 11 DFW chefs were nominated for the James Beard award, which selects the best chefs and restaurants in the country.

After taking a year off, the James Beard awards are back, and many restaurants throughout the country are being honored. Each year, the awards are handed out both nationally and regionally, and this year DFW is well represented for the Texas awards. The North Texas chefs nominated for best chef this year includes; Tiffany Derry from Roots Southern Table, Matt McCallister from Homewood, Misti Norris from Petra and the Beast, Anastacia Quiñones- Pittman from José, Regino Rojas from Revolver Taco Lounge and Koji Yoshida from EBESU Robata and Sushi.
