Adam Sandler fans may know the actor best for his many comedic roles. However, his music skills have gained him a few fans over the years as well. Now, the latest example of Sandler’s musical abilities has gone viral after video of him performing a Tom Petty cover was shared online.
The performance comes from ‘Tom Petty's 70th Birthday Bash,’ a virtual celebration of the late artist that happened last October. While Sandler was one of many contributors to the live event, video of his performance was shared this week by Petty's official Instagram account for fans who didn't get to see it live. “Tom Petty, loved that man, loved him so, such a nice nice guy, such a funny funny person. Every time I was around him I felt so lucky, I walked away just thinking about it and everything he said and how cool he was,” said Sandler.
According to JamBase, Sandler performed a cover of the Tom Petty song, ‘Yer So Bad.’ The song even had a special meaning to Sandler, as he said his daughter was currently learning the song on guitar, so they could jam together. Sandler may be known for the laughs, but his music is a close second.
