Port Aransas is definitely on the calendar for a lot of families in North Texas looking for a little fun in the sun, but before you head to the beach make sure you pack your shark repellent!

A video going viral on TikTok shows what appears to be a baby shark making a valiant effort to swim from the shallow water into the ocean.

San Antonio resident Rissaa Marie shared the clip online, which has people commenting, "Oh heck no, this is why I won't go waist deep anymore."

One person asked, "Do they bite?" to which Marie jokingly replied to the user, "Go and find out."

Per MySA.com, last summer the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) issued a statement following a series of shark attacks on South Padre Island, located about three hours south of Port Aransas, stating, "Shark encounters of this nature are not a common occurrence in Texas.

"When bites from sharks do occur, they are usually a case of mistaken identity by sharks looking for food."
