Von Miller. DeSoto native, former Aggie, future NFL Hall of Famer, and proprietor of a pretty successful chicken farm.
That’s quite the resume for the former Super Bowl MVP, and chickens from his farm are now being served at one of the newest BBQ joints to join the throng of amazing locales in North Texas.
Kafi BBQ is in Irving. Miller’s farm, Greener Pastures, is located in Elgin, and has received rave reviews for “organically raising chickens in stress-free environments” since opening in 2018.
Salahodeen Abdul-Kafi, owner of Kafi BBQ, recently said in a TikTok per MySA.com, “Von Miller studied chicken farming at A&M. So he opened his own chicken farm in Austin. That's where the chicken's from.
"That's pasture raised, organically fed, regeneratively farmed chicken. So what they do is they put the chickens in a mobile coop, and that coop is on wheels and they just move the coop every two days, so they're like grazing on new grass all the time, and then they fertilize the grass and they just move it around.”
Kafi BBQ is located at 8140 N. MacArthur Blvd., Suite 100, Irving, TX 75063.
