104-year-old Dallas building that formerly housed the Lizard Lounge set to be demolished

The Lizard Lounge was one of the most iconic venues in Dallas, but unfortunately fell victim to the pandemic and closed in May of 2020.

Now, the 104-year-old building that used to house the club is set for demolition.


In a post on social media, Next Level Events expressed, "With heavy hearts, It has come to our attention that the beloved former property of 2424 Swiss Avenue has been sold to a developer and is now scheduled for imminent demolition.

"We expect this to take place in the next few weeks. If you wish to pay your last respects, now is the time."

According to WFAA, the building, which was built in 1920, was recently sold.  It's new owners, Westdale Properties, have yet to reveal what they intend to do with the space.
