You walk down the street in any major city in America, you'll find your share of performers playing music for anybody that walks on by.

The newly created Dallas Music Office is launching a "busking initiative" to bring local music back to the streets of Dallas.

This Thursday, September 19, there is a busking artist showcase Sept. 19 at Club Dada in Deep Ellum, consisting of a happy hour followed by performances from eight local artists.

Remy Reilly, a singer/songwriter involved with the project, told WFAA, "I love how Dallas Music Office is bringing back busking," said Remy Reilly, a singer/songwriter involved with the project.

"Live music is a huge part of Dallas, however, you see less and less of it on the streets. With the new busking performances, I believe it will bring a lively atmosphere to the city!"

Erfan Ebadipour, a musician involved with The Busking Initiative, added, "The Busking Initiative opens the door between our Dallas community and local entertainers and musicians by connecting the city-goer and artist like never before."
