Animal encounters near one’s home usually occur when the animal is in search of some nearby food. While most wild animals wandering outside someone’s home won’t cause any problems, when that animal is an elephant things get a little more serious. A video of an elephant breaking through a home’s wall in search of food recently went viral, leaving many online stunned.
As seen in the now viral clip, an elephant appears inside a home’s kitchen, with its massive head poking through the wall. The incident occurred in Thailand near the Kaeng Krachan national park, where elephants often make their way to nearby villages in search of food. According to Nerdist, this is not the first encounter of the elephant breaking into the home in search of food.
Once partially inside the home, the elephant uses its trunk to search around the area for food, eventually attempting to eat something it pulled from the home. The elephant knocked over pots and plates, but eventually left leaving a massive hole in the home’s kitchen. Hopefully next time the elephant will knock instead of breaking into the home.
