It seems loving Whataburger is a requirement for anyone living in Texas. However, popular YouTube food critic Mikey Chen clearly didn’t get the memo when he moved to the Lone Star state earlier this year. Chen recently shared his review of the beloved fast food chain, but his review left many of his new neighbors extremely disappointed.
Mikey Chen has made a name for himself thanks to his passionate reviews of restaurants all over the country. Chen mainly reviews small, family-owned restaurants, particularly Asian cuisines, but has reviewed a number of popular chains as well. While positive reviews often help restaurants, Chen’s opinion on Whataburger probably won’t help him make new friends in Texas.
According to Dallas Culture Map, Chen ordered a number of fan favorites, including a honey butter chicken biscuit, a Honey BBQ Chicken Strip sandwich, and of course a classic Whataburger. Sadly, most of what he said wasn’t too complimentary, though he claimed a classic Whataburger with cheese and jalapenos was “100 percent one of my favorite fast food burgers." Maybe by year 2 in Texas, he will understand how great Whataburger truly is.
