Last Friday, photos were circulated on social media after a women picked up a pair of beloved geese that reside in Bethany Lakes Park in Allen, stuffed them into her car, and drove away.
After a literal "wild goose chase," Allen PD were able to locate both "Betty" and "Fred," and reunited them.
According to NBC DFW, Betty and Fred, whom are both domesticated geese, have been fixtures at the park for over a decade, likely the result of someone who didn't want them just leaving the birds.
Because the birds are domestic geese and not a migratory species, the City of Allen said no laws were violated, and because they weren't injured, no charges will be filed.
The couple was released back into the wild early Tuesday morning.
