A town with a unique name is no strange phenomenon in the state of Texas. There’s an Oatmeal, Texas for crying out loud.

One particular town, about 80 miles northeast of Dallas, is having a little trouble with the Department of Transportation, who is refusing to send them new road signs. Because they keep getting stolen.

Officials say over the years, over 70 road signs have been stolen from Bug Tussle, Texas, which is an outstanding figure considering the town only has a population of about 15 people.

The name was changed to Bug Tussle shortly after the town was founded as Truss in 1890.

According to UPI, the most popular origin story for Bug Tussle’s name came from the incident where an ice cream social was invaded by insects. Another piece of lore is that two men were arguing about the town’s name and were distracted by two bugs fighting.
