A Grapevine man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison following an incident with his neighbor back in December 2022.
44-year-old David Alferez was found guilty of setting his neighbor's porch on fire after the two had a dispute over the volume of the music Alferez was playing in his trailer. Alferez reportedly grew upset when his neighbor asked him to turn it down.
According to NBC DFW, once the neighbor walked away, Alferez poured flammable liquid on the man's porch and set it on fire. Prosecutors said the fire eventually burned out, and the entire incident was caught on camera.
The Tarrant County District Attorney's Office said in a statement, "Thanks to the Grapevine Police Department, the Grapevine Fire Department, and the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office for their work on this case and for their commitment to keeping our community safe."
