Whenever drivers are stuck in traffic, they usually take a few seconds to see what caused the disruption on the road when they pass it before finally getting to hit the gas again. While usually this frustrates other drivers who are ready to get moving, sometimes it's something that makes everyone on the road do a double take. That's exactly what happened on I-75 in McKinney over the weekend when a hot air balloon unexpectedly landed on the highway.
On Saturday, drivers in McKinney were forced to sit in traffic for a bit for a very unexpected reason. As seen in a clip that has recently gone viral, a hot air balloon landed on the access road along I-75. According to WFAA, the incident occurred around Eldorado Parkway.
There has been no word yet on what caused the surprise hot air balloon landing, or if anyone involved was injured. In the video, people are shown trying to clear the hot air balloon from the road. While no one likes sitting in traffic, at least this time it was for an understandable reason.
