Almost everyone has experienced singing a lyric to a song only to find out later that the line they thought was being sang was actually something else entirely. Even after finding out the correct line, sometimes people refuse to hear anything but their own version of the lyric. That seems to be the case for actor Hugh Jackman, who recently revealed he once believed Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ was about him.
In a video shared online, actor Hugh Jackman claimed he always thought Whitney Houston was singing “I will always love Hugh” in the song. “By the way, listen to the very last lyric of ‘I Will Always Love You’ by Whitney Houston. She actually says Hugh, I promise you. The very last – it is Hugh,” joked Jackman in the video. The actor went on to say he made himself believe this when he was 15.
Many online could relate to Jackman, sharing their own misheard lyrics. According to NME, Jackman’s video has been liked over 440,000 times.
Hopefully by now he realizes that actually wasn’t the lyric.
