There are many who would do just about anything for a small piece of their favorite movie. For fans of ‘The Shining,’ not much can match the axe used by Jack Nicholson in the film. Now, one lucky fan will have the chance to wield the axe themselves, as the prop used in the film is set to be sold at auction.
One of the most iconic quotes in movie history is Jack Nicholson yelling “here’s Johnny,” after breaking through a door using an axe in ‘The Shining.’ Now, fans will be able to authentically do the same as the axe used in the film is set to be sold by ‘Gotta Have Rock and Roll auction house.’ The auction is set to take place on April 20 and the prop is expected to be sold for at least $100,000.
According to NME, the auction house claims the axe is still in good condition. It comes displayed in a shadow box frame along with some photos of it in action in the movie. Now, one lucky fan will get to annoy their significant other for years with a very authentic “here’s Johnny!”
