We haven't heard much from the "Tiger King" Joe Exotic lately.  It seems he and Carole Basin were all we talked about in 2020.

Exotic currently spends his time locked up at the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, serving 21 years for hiring someone to kill Baskin, and these days, Exotic is spending his time in jail alone.

Exotic's legal team recently revealed that the Tiger King was recently put into quarantine at the prison after coming down with the contagious skin condition scabies!

According to Dallas Morning News, Exotic, real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage, had recently been experiencing symptoms including a rash and itching "for over a month and a half."  Though Maldonado-Passage told his legal team last week that the prison did not have enough medication to treat inmates with the skin condition, he has since been treated and given new clothing and bedding.

His team also said Maldonado-Passage had observed "very unsanitary" conditions in the prison, including rats in beds.

The prison said in a statement there was no vermin infestation, and that it takes "communicable infections seriously."

Maldonado-Passage has been appealing his conviction for years.  One of his lawyers, Roger Roots, recently commented, "He is wrongly imprisoned for crimes he did not commit.  He's been in there over six years."

Maldonado-Passage is scheduled for release from prison in 2036.
