It's hard to pass up Buc-ee's on a road trip of any length. We just need to caution travelers to look out for the giant beaver.
A man in Florence County, South Carolina has filed a lawsuit against the Texas travel chain after he allegedly injured himself after tripping over the large inflatable beaver Buc-ee's had propped outside their store.
According to the Greenville News, Richard E. Brown tripped over a rope running from the base of the inflatable to another point across the street, causing several injuries.
Notably, the suit states Brown suffered great injuries to his right shoulder and has incurred medical costs and has experienced "physical pain, suffering, mental anguish emotional distress, and impairment of health, and bodily efficiency due to the incident.
The suit alleges that Buc-ee's was aware of the rope's "dangerous" condition and failed to repair the hazard amounting to careless, reckless, wanton, and/or willful negligence."
It is currently unknown how much Brown is seeking from Buc-ee's in the lawsuit. The chain did not respond to any requests for a comment.
