The internet is full of people attempting to show off their musical abilities by performing covers of iconic songs. Each musician shares their own version, hoping fans of the original see their version and spread it around the internet. Of course, each artist hopes to do something different to separate themselves from the others, and one musician in the Netherlands definitely did that.
In the video that has since gone viral, Frank Steijns performs the Motorhead classic ‘Ace of Spades’ using ancient church bells. Steijns is accompanied by guitarist Jitse Zonneveld, but it is the church bell performance that has stunned many online. The cover even got the approval of Motorhead, who shared the video along with the caption, “Here’s one we really like. Enjoy!”
According to NME, Steijns previously performed the church bells cover of ‘Ace of Spades’ at the 2021 Torenfestival (Tower festival) in the Netherlands. Since being shared, the video has been viewed over 190,000 times. Hopefully some more church bell covers are on the way.
