Like many North Texans, Chris Olguin decided to spend Memorial Day at Lake Lewisville.
An outdoorsman, Olguin was hoping to land a good catch at the lake that day, but there was no way he could've expected to find what he did bobbing up and down in the water.
Olguin can be heard saying in a video, "It's not a fish, but it's something." That something was in fact a baby deer struggling to keep its head above the water.
Without hesitation, Olguin reached down and pulled the fawn into his boat, and even tried to feed it corn he often uses as bait.
Olguin and a few others were able to help the deer reunite with its mother upon their return to the shore.

Olguin told WFAA of his heroics, "If it were a person or an animal, go out of your way and help out. We're all, you know, still here together."
