Part of U.S. 81/287 in Alvord in Wise County was closed for hours yesterday after an 18-wheeler carrying millions of dimes overturned in the southbound lanes.
According to WFAA, the truck overturned around 5:30am yesterday morning scattering dimes all over the roadway.
The Wise County Messenger reports that the crash happened after the driver veered off the roadway, overcorrected, and rolled onto its side.
It took crews around 14 hours to completely remove the change from the roadways. The truck driver was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
